I think the Internet is one of the best things that has ever happened for introverts! Never before has it been possible for an introvert to comfortably approach a person or group of people and say “Hi, I’m an introvert, and this is how I feel about it…” There are so many websites, blogs, and discussion groups online that there’s really no need for any of us to feel misunderstood. Now we just need to get extraverts to “get” us!
On her blog Don’t Be Shy, Dee has written a number of articles discussing the difference between introversion and shyness. One which really caught my eye is Introverts don’t like small talk and other interesting facts. It’s a quick and easy read, and perfect to share with your extraverted friends and family members who just don’t understand you. Be sure to bookmark the site (or add it to your RSS feed) so you’ll remember to go back and read some more – I know I will!

A retreat for introvert. And I agree with you, I really have to thank Internet and Web 2.0 for the potential to express my thoughts and creativity through my blog.

Indeed.
I think the internet will be particularly useful as a way for introverted people to form groups in which their way is the standard way.
In public, introverts have to struggle to hide their identity.
On the internet, they are in their element through the written word.

Gluon, that’s exactly what I love about social networking - it allows us to be conversational yet doing so in writing, giving us more time to process and think of how to respond than in face-to-face or telephone contact.

as an introvert, i still find it hard to chat online because i still feel as if i am chatting face to face with a person. it sucks!

I think introversy is so neglected and put aside in this world. The blog name is fantastic as the WWW is now definitely my playing field!
